of miles I drove on my trip this week, door to door, Mon-Thur. Now I know why truckers walk the way they do!
It was a great little trip, got my mind cleared out. Monday and Thursday were driving days, Tuesday and Wednesday I did some training classes for the folks at our Panhandle plantation. The smell. Oh, the smell.
Took the back roads, avoided all interstates except for one 50 mile trek on I-27. Talk about landscape changes! Texas is incredibly big and incredibly diverse in landscapes. Mountains, valley’s plains, mesas, desert – all in Texas.
Stayed at a cheap hotel in Big Springs, ended up switching rooms with a truck driver so that he could get away from the “bikers”. These guys were about as much like the Bandidos as I am but the trucker guy was paranoid. So I switched rooms and everyone was happy. Ever the peace maker.
Here are a few pics along the way. The only bird I remember was one of the three quail that were in the highway and he didn’t quite make it. Thud.
This one’s my fav, I like the way the clouds look like cotton or something. They covered the sky and I exposed for the sun (-1 stop). So I got a little color with the foreground blacked out.
The pictures are great. That’s one of the reasons I love Texas, the terrain is so diverse. A thudded quail……..well fried quail is delish with mashed potatoes and cream gravy. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome shots, B2! A pictorial essay of the diversity in Texas!
My favorite is the picture of the flowers…It is just so you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL I am sure that you did that flower just for me right? SU
