I suppose that I’m

David Jennings · March 31, 2006 · 2 Comments

a pure-blooded (questionable, I know), genuine Southern American Redneck, racist to the core! Well, you say, most of us already knew that. Yeah, well, I’m just figuring it out, I guess I’ve fooled myself all these years thinking that I’m a pretty level headed person, never too far right or left, have voted for Republican, Democrat and Independents for President (should have given me a clue when I supported Ross Perot). Always tried to include the left-outs, the people that were the underdogs, never really understood wealth and arrogance. In short, I thought I was better than everyone else.

Ha. Now I find that I am sickened, yes, physically sickened by the sight of idiots from Mexico marching in the streets of the US with Mexican flags. Oh, and idiots that have never been to Mexico marching in the streets of the US with Mexican flags. And idiot kids of idiot Mexicans skipping school, marching in the streets of the US with Mexican flags. And idiot liberals and their policies that have lead us to the point that we tolerate idiot Mexicans marching in the streets of the US with Mexican flags. And idiot conservatives and their policies that want to prop up their own wealth on the backs of middle-income Americans by allowing Mexicans to flood our labor force with cheap labor, enabling idiot Mexicans to march in the streets of the US with Mexican flags.

Enough already. I see a glimmer of hope, just a glimmer, but still it’s there. If people like me and SU are fed up enough to talk about it, then I suspect there are many others as well. We are sometimes referred to as the silent majority, just going through life, trying to do the best we can, helping as many as possible along the way, bowing to squeaky wheels, never really demanding anything, just taking it up the butt. Well, it’s time to stand up and I hope that others are seeing the same thing. The idiot Mexicans should have done this some other time of the year, not when we have to send in our tax returns.

Here’s the way it works: we work, we play by the rules, we pay and pay and pay and pay and pay and pay and pay and pay, then the idiot Mexicans cross our borders, work for pennies because they don’t pay and pay and pay and pay, use our infrastructure, our social safety nets, take our money and send it home. Remember when a guy painting houses got a respectable wage? Remember? Think about all of the other jobs that “Americans won’t do”. BS. Americans won’t do them for pennies. Is it cheaper in the long run to pay a Mexican pennies and then allow his whole extended family to use up our resources? And go to our ER’s for medical care. And attend our schools to be educated. And attend our universities. For free. And we pay and pay and pay and pay. We drive old cars. We have old clothes. Our kids don’t have iPods.

Take your torillas and go home. Now. And shove your stinkin’ flag right where the sun doesn’t shine. Yeah, that’s right, a good ol’ redneck manifesto. Late.

[…] I mean, everywhere you look, it’s anger here, anger there. And frankly, I too have been caught up in it from time to time, though I try, Lord, I try not to be. I think there are a couple of reasons why I get caught up in it: […]
