and we must now return to reality. Managed to redo our bedroom, it looks great. I’m too old for this stuff, every joint in my body aches right now!
We ended the week by riding the bike out to the San Jacinto monument for the celebration of independence from Mexico. There was quite a lot of people out there. Absolutely beautiful weather today, mid-80’s, clear blue skies. Didn’t care much for the “reenactment”, it was pretty cheesy. Bet I would think differently if I had small children though. They looked like they were having a great time, especially when the big cannons fired!
Our class is going to be focusing on spiritual growth for the next six weeks using Tony Evan’s Life Essentials as the background. I hope that I can walk that balance between “education” and maintaining the child like wonder that Brennan Manning and Ted Dekker write about in their books. Too often as Christians, we focus on the man inspired doctrines of the faith rather than the love and joy of Christ.
