SU and I had. Of course, there may be other couples that think staying home, eating leftover chili and watching To Kill A Mockingbird is lacking in the romance department but they just don’t understand the pull a warm trailer has over a cold, crowded restaurant.
What a good movie. I thought I had seen it many years ago but I think I only read the book. Very powerful and the good guy doesn’t win, which is very much like life. But even in defeat, he is able to hold onto his ideals and change hearts in this cruel world. Awesome stuff. I can’t imagine not striking out at a drunk filthy piece of white trash spitting in my face for defending the defenseless. It is so easy to get caught up in the hystera and to side with the mob. It takes a person of great character and ideals to withstand the pressure.
Went to a taxpayer rally yesterday and no one showed up. I think that people like to scream and shout on the internet but when it comes right down to it, as long as they can pay their cable bill, they don’t care about taxes. It is far easier to type in all caps and call politicians crooks and liars than it is to get in your car, drive downtown and stand out in the cold. Just my two cents.
