Ken Burn’s Civil War series last night. Pretty powerful stuff; it takes a big picture approach to the war and includes both issues that were involved, slavery and states rights. I have a hard time understanding those people that insist the war was only about one or the other, to do that discounts the complexity of human nature. Should be an interesting viewing.

Received an email from my newfound, never met internet encourager yesterday and boy, was it timely. Amazing how God uses people at just the right time in just the right situation. It is so inspirational when that happens that I cannot put it into words.

Why are people in our society so empty? In a spiritual sense. Has it always been this way and I just never noticed? Is it an increasing phenomenon as technology speeds the pace of life?
