Wow, I just looked up and I haven’t posted since the 9th? That’s no way to run a blog!
So, here goes. We took Kaia to Abilene last weekend and got her settled in. Her roommate has a mom from hell but I’m sure they will finally work it out. I took some pictures via film, so when I get them developed I’ll upload a couple. The girl took over the room, filling it with furnishings fit for an 80 year old. It took all of Terri’s willpower to not get into a big fight with the other mom. Kaia was also upset, but she handled it very well, deciding to fix it after the mom’s left. Good for her.
Katlyn started school on Thursday the 12th. Senior year! I hope she let’s herself enjoy it. She was filling out apps for Duke and Harvard last week. She is a special human being and will do well in whatever field she chooses to go into. I only wish she would choose to enlighten the world with writing and painting, but alas, it doesn’t look like she’s headed that direction. God will use her in whatever way he sees fit and that’s that. He never consulted me about it, he just entrusted her with us for a little while.
Terri is thriving at work, as we always knew she would. She too needs more time to write and create, hopefully we will be able to go back to her staying at home after the kids are out of college. Not really staying at home, per se, but having the freedom to teach and write.
Evans is still hanging in there, albeit by a thread. But, the thread seems to be made out of some super strong material, so I think we’ll be here a while longer yet. I talked to Lance yesterday, he is planning on returning to work Monday, what a miracle. If you could only hear him talk, it is truly amazing. I’ll say it again, I hope I am able to endure hardships in my life half as well. The team is starting to pull together after the layoffs, which were a big shock (shock is probably the wrong word because no one should have been caught by surprise). There are truly some great people around here and it is nice to be able to talk openly about your belief in Christ without people running away.
As for me, well, I’m still around, so I guess God has something He needs done. I’m ready.
Later……
