All in all, today

David Jennings · November 20, 2006 · Leave a Comment

was a very good day. I mean, how could it not be, given another spectacular weather day and all!

Speaking of weather, I suppose that it kept a lot of our guys home today. Or at least it seemed that way what with the low turnout in class, only 8 of us. But I suppose that I can’t complain as it was an AWESOME weather day. Heck, if I weren’t committed to leading the discussion, I wouldn’t have been there either! I do hope that those that were out enjoyed the day as much as I did.

First, I suppose I must mention that one of the guys (actually THE guy) that we set up the Wednesday night study for came today. I was very surprised and very glad. In that, I didn’t turn him away. Heck, you never know, I mean, I try, but at the end of the day I’m just the Bigjolly, incoherent, not the brightest bulb, etc.

So the class discussion was okay, some good comments, some not so. But as usual, I did learn more from the discussion than from my research. One point made was that I have to be careful with my Pollyana attitude. Oh, I know what I mean when I say that I’m blessed. But obviously, the interpretation of that comes from the eye of the beholder. One of my guys wanted to make certain that we knew that “blessings” can be interpreted as saying that no matter what, God will bless you financially or health-wise. Nothing could be further from the truth of course. But, I get the message. I’ll be more careful in my words.

Probably the highlight of the day was when BIL called and wanted to meet at Katies. It’s been awhile so I was happy to meet him there and listen to live music. Is there anything on God’s green earth better than 4 or 5 guys gettin’ down on guitars, bass, percussion and keyboard? Answer is – NO. Jim and the boy’s were kickin’ it tonight. But mainly, it was good to see BIL. Dude just never changes, always lookin’ at life through a different lens.

Well, it’s pretty late and 5 am is sneaking up on me, so late.
