Awww, what next?

Major disappointment to find out that Alison Ayres Bell, Chirs Bell’s wife, is on the board of Planned Parenthood of Houston and is an advocate of fetal stem cell research. Dang it!

I’ve said often that the governor of Texas can’t do anything about abortion so it would be okay for me to vote for Bell, pro-choice or not. Well..that is still true but this knowledge (okay, it wasn’t a secret, I just failed to do my homework) strips me of my chance to vote for # 2 in the polls on election day. Just can’t in good conscience vote for a guy knowing his wife is pushing abortions in order to get more stem cells to help find a cure for her own cancer. Just can’t do it, no matter how much I want Rick Perry to lose and David Dewhurst to get religion so to speak. And the governor can help Planned Parenthood (who should be renamed to Abortions for Profit). Never forget that last year Planned Parenthood performed 255,015 abortions and reported a net profit over $63 million dollars or $247 PROFIT per abortion.

Sucks to be a Repub this year. Down to Granny or Kinky for gov, Shelly Ten Names for rep. Sigh.

Correction – the numbers above are from 2004 – they have not released their 2005 report as of today, October 25, 2006. Link to the 2004 report: Planned Parenthood Annual Report
