hanging in. There is some improvement in his “labs”, meaning that some of his organs are beginning to function in a somewhat more normal manner. Still not responsive but as long as he’s alive, there is hope. Oh how I want to hear my phone ring on the drive to work. We talked weekly that way, as we made our way to work, encouraging each other. He’s such beautiful person, full of life and hope, a joy to talk to.
About halfway through Showdown now. Dekker has returned to some of the themes from his trilogy, Red, Black, White, the books I didn’t care for much, thought they were too wordy just to increase the length of the books. He scolded me for that, btw. Anyhow, the overriding theme in this is choice, our free will given by God. And how over time, sin enters our lives and we just don’t realize it, we are blinded to the effects it has on us. Very real stuff here in a very much fantasy novel. So far, so good.
