Busy Week

David Jennings · July 14, 2004 · Leave a Comment

Seems like time is just flying now. Terri and I went to meet Kaia for dinner last night at Johnny Carinas at I10/Mason Road. Got home around 9:30 pm. Boy, does that make for a long day. Kaia was with her friends Ashley and Jenny. Ashley’s parents also were there, just don’t ask me
their names! Kaia got her hair cut to shoulder length, looks good. Wasn’t impressed with the food though. Very bland, no style.

What else is happening? Mark went over for an interview, hope that all works out. We really need business, down to very small numbers now. Have to cut more people this week. Lance, Jamie, Joni and I went down to meet with Bill Bailey of Champion Technologies, productive but very
little business to be had. We should stay in close contact with them, they are growing. Have a meeting setup in Bishop on the 26th with Brent B, here’s hoping.

Zeus is continuing to grow and get his own personality. He is very playful and energetic. Definitely have to keep him under control and well trained or he will be a beast. Starting to show his
fearlessness.

Katlyn called from camp, VS. is going well. Says it is a little boring in the afternoons due to the lack of scheduling but I think it is probably a good idea by the sponsors. It has to be extremely hot, they need to recharge. She says the services at night are good, they usually get back to the hotel (well, actually, a church gym!) by about 11:00 pm. She was going to Mexico yesterday afternoon, hope all went well and she found some bargains.

I think I’m in a funk. I’m really tired of laying people off, it just gets to  me. Especially long term employees when I’ve been here such a short time. Sometimes feel like falling on my sword and getting it over with, but I know that this is where God wants me right now. I am doing a lot of good things here and do bring a lot to the table that they didn’t have and sorely needed, so I guess I’ll keep my sword in it’s scabbard for awhile.

Later……
