Yeah, lets spend a couple of million on a new council election so that Vote Twice for Shelley gets to put congresswoman in front of her name for 7 weeks. Oh, btw, just in time to send out holiday cards on the taxpayer dime. What a joke. Check out this from the Chron article today:

Shelley Sekula-Gibbs arrived with the big ideas and high enthusiasm of Mr. Smith coming to Washington. She wants to change Medicare, curb illegal immigration and cut taxes.

Trouble is, she has only two or three working weeks ahead of her as she targets issues that have taken federal lawmakers years to address.

On Tuesday, her first full day of official action in Congress, the new U.S. representative was steadfast.

“If there’s a way to do it, we’ll do it,” she said of the tough issues.
