Talk about a misleading headline. When I first saw this headline, I thought, there you go, that’s an example of illegals.
Boy, 3, dies crossing AZ desert after being left behind by mother…
Then, I clicked on the link and lo and behold, that’s NOT what the story says at all! Check out the first line (emphasis on while added by the Bigjolly):
A 3-year-old boy from Mexico died while crossing the desert southwest of Tucson with his mother, according to the U.S. Border Patrol.
The boy’s body was left behind by the unidentified woman, who later told border agents about his death, authorities said Tuesday.
Now folks, that is a sorry excuse for a headline. He died WHILE crossing NOT AFTER BEING LEFT BEHIND. Drudge should be ashamed of himself and his staff. It is also an example of what has happened to the media in general, that sensationalism is far more important than truth. I wonder if they will change the headline – if so, I have a screenshot to prove it. Pitiful. Late.
UPDATE At around 3:30 pm today, the Drudgereport changed this false headline. To see an image of the original page, click here.
