Feeling like I’ve been

David Jennings · October 31, 2006 · Leave a Comment

run over by the proverbial Mack truck (do they even make Mack trucks anymore?). My sinus cavity feels like someone has it in a vise grip and won’t let go. Oh, the pressure of it all!

Almost takes the magic out of the the beautiful weather. Almost. Was yesterday a fabulous day or what? And today looks just as good thus far, although I did run into a couple of sprinkles on the ride down the coast this morning. I noticed that I didn’t get the heebeejeebees when the rain hit, guess me and the Marauder are getting used to each other.

Not sure what the evening holds, the church decided to cancel visitation since it was Halloween night. Good idea if you ask me, I really don’t need any jokes like “Hey, mister, where’d ya get that mask” and all. Or, with today’s malady, I might get a few Rudolph red nose jokes.

Finally decided to cast my lot with Strayhorn for Governor. Took awhile but I think, for me, she’s the best choice. As always, there are no perfect choices but after viewing everything in the light of day, she’s probably the only one I’d trust to babysit my grandchildren (if’n I had any). So that’s that. Just about every other vote will be for the Repubs, except for Lt. Gov, on that one I’ll vote for the Libertarian or skip. Gonna try to get over to the polls today to avoid the election day rush.

Looks bleak for the Repubs on the national front, all I can say is that they brought it on themselves. I don’t think that having Pelosi, Frank, et al in charge of our government is best for the country but it is what it is. I do hope that President Bush will figure something out in Iraq but that’s doubtful. It’s a complicated mess over there to be sure.
