yesterday. Probably because I stayed off the computer for the most part. Worked on the pool again, it is giving me fits this year.
SU and I went to T-Bone Tom’s in the evening, using our gift certificate from Hero and 1. They have the best beef, it is just so, so tender. If only people knew, it would be even more crowded, as it is now you can’t find a parking spot close. During the plantation rahrah, we dined at a couple of very high-end steakhouses, they are way behind Tom’s in quality. Think I’ll keep it my secret.
Watched an interesting movie when we came home, The Last Sin Eater. It’s an adaptation of Francine Rivers’ novel by the same name. The theme of the movie is forgiveness and how we seek it. It is played out through the eyes of a young girl’s guilt about the death of her sister, her mother’s guilt about the same, living in the midst of a clan’s secrets.
Although a “B” flick in terms of production costs, I enjoyed it. Is there anything harder than forgiving oneself for a perceived “bad” thing? How often do we say things in haste, in the anger of the moment and then a future event occurs before we can reconcile ourselves to the person we hurt?
We are going to be discussing the Christian life today. Why follow Christ if life is no different than for those following Budda, Krishna or nothing at all? What good does it do? Isn’t what people seek in life, a smooth, carefree, no stress, no pain, wealthy path? If Christ does not offer that, why bother?
