evening yesterday. Decided to check the Anderson Fair schedule and see who was playing. Turns out it was an internationally aclaimed guitarist named Adrian Legg. After a bit of hesitation since SU is under the weather and didn’t want to get out, I decided to go and see the show. First time I’ve been to Anderson Fair when it was packed or even had anything close to a crowd.
As a gutiarist, he really is all that. More like a jazz pianist. The guitar he used was one of his own design and sounded really cool. And he communicated with the crowd pretty well between songs. So, did I like it? Not particularly. I mean, I like guitars and such, but “sophisticated” and “Big Jolly” are sorta at odds with each other, don’t you think? I’d like to see this guy doin’ a hoedown or playing Deliverance. Bet he’d be real good at it. And put a vocalist up there! I like to hear words with my music!
Still, he is all that as a guitar player. Late.
