news yesterday from BIL. He has managed to gain enough movement in three fingers to want to play the guitar again in our class. The miracle that is BIL continues to amaze.
Well, life is going to be interesting for the next few weeks. 1’s beau is arriving from Baghdad this evening and will be spending his furlough with us. Mostly anyway, they are going to his parents home for a few days. So, I had to clean out my music room. Can a guy have too many guitars, amps, keyboards? Methinks so. Good thing we purchased the deluxe doublewide but alas, it too is now full. I left 5 guitars hanging on the wall, put 7 in storage, put 3 amps in storage, gave the keyboard away (like I was ever going to play it anyway), put the Start, the Carvin AE185, the Princeton Reverb and Big Ugly (Taylor 615) in my bedroom (yeah, SU’s happy about that I’m sure). And I need to take the Carvin custom to Jim for repair (neck pups volume dropped). After that I was tired! And that’s not even talking about setting the bed up and moving the chairs and misc stuff out. Whew.
Afterwards, SU had pity on me and took me to El Toro, our kitchen outside of the trailer park. Nice to sit and chat with a beautiful, charming, witty female. This weekend will be our 25th anniversary of wedded bliss. She’s awesome.
Woke up this morning to a dense fog, defining the term “thick as pea soup”. Sight was limited to a very few feet and as I was taking the trash out, I noticed a few lights making their way through the trees, so I pulled out the Lumix and snapped this photo, which is very much a metaphor for the way I’m feeling these days, making my way through a forest towards the light.
