work interferes with surfing and blogging. Geez, gimme a break. Not much free time today. And yesterday, well, let’s just say my fingers were numb. I digress (again).
Went on a 300 mile round tripper yesterday on the Marauder. Can you say cold? Burr? Shrinkage factor? Yes, all of those. Left the trailer park at 7:15 am, the thingie on the wall reading 37° F. Okay, I can say it – cold! 30 miles to the rendezvous point. From there up to Washington on the Brazos, then to Chappel Hill for lunch, then to Independence to see the remains of Baylor (oldest operating university in Texas), back through Brenham and others home. We had 7 riders and had a ball. Best line was probably when one guy went to the restroom, unzipped and heard Nooooooooooo! Home at 5:30, then dinner with SU. Very, very nice day.
Of course, taking 4 days off means that you get very busy when you return. Such was the case today, as in not much time to surf. Which is life, right? Okay, so it isn’t but for those of us that have somehow become addicted to this stuff, it’s important, no? And for those of you addicted to a certain form of nicotine, ha, the joke is on you! I wonder if people will really, really stop smoking when the extra buck a pack hits ’em? Hmm. I’m thinkin’ that a few will but the majority will just keep on keepin’ on. Where did that come from? Sometimes these random thoughts just pop up. Oh well. Best log off now before someone notices I skipped church again. What’s up with that?
Too bad you missed church…the Popster preached….
He might have missed church, but it looks like he got at least one nice photo. New hobby for the BigJ?
😆
Hey, Dude, no, not a new hobby. Been snapping for years, even won a Chron photo contest one year. But this year I went digital and it’s renewed my joy in photography. It’s CHEAP! At least once you get past the initial investment.
Belated congrats on the Chron photo contest. Once upon a time, I wanted to be a photographer professionally. I still have my old 35mm cameras and some of the developing gear (B&W only). I was pretty late to the digital party myself. I got mine (Nikon Coolpix) in late 2001 as a Christmas gift. I love it still, but I find it hard to dedicate time to photography. Vacations are the best time for me to enjoy it.
