church went really well today, after a difficult start. Our talk today was on patience and I needed it badly. When I walked into our room, the white board had been moved per SU’s request but the guys left it very untidy. Obviously they are going to come back in and correct it but it just looked so UGLY! Bad start. After I recovered, I thought every thing went just fine. Someone had left me a note on my music stand, telling me how much they enjoyed the songs every Sunday. Nice.
We had a ton of guys in class, I think it was 15. Not bad for a group of men, about the hardest demographic to get to church, perhaps next to 17-25 year old males. Anyway, we got a funny clip out of the discussion, one of the guys was complaining that the Mexican employees at work were talking in Spanish about him and he didn’t like it. LF came up with the line, “Learn Patience or Learn Spanish”. I thought it was pretty catchy.
The service in big church was good. I like harmonizing with RSa and the choir, it brings me such joy. Especially when a total stranger comes up to me afterwards and says, Man, you got a set of pipes. Cool. Not quite as good as if someone told me I had a big set of cajones, but close. The lady whose husband recently passed away that I’ve been really praying for was there today, added bonus.
Oh well, it’s raining and I think I’ll play with the scanner. Late.
