Interesting day yesterday

David Jennings · February 10, 2007 · 6 Comments

for a whole bunch of reasons, not the least of which was watching Cool Hand Luke. It’s been quite some time since I had last seen it. That is a great classic movie. My favorite part is when he is captured for the second time and “broken”. As he is returned to the bunkhouse, his fellow prisoners turn on him because they feel let down. As he is lying on the floor, he asks them, where are you now?

Life is much like that movie, people living “their” lives through the window of another. Most people do nothing more than watch television to gain their perspective on life, never understanding that to understand life, you must participate in it, not simply observe another’s viewpoint. I end my class each week telling the guys to read your Bible, read your Bible, read your Bible. Never let anyone tell you what is in it unless you have read it and can compare.

Another interesting thing about yesterday is that I was called a flaming liberal for not wanting an Imam to teach my grandchildren Biblical history, for saying that a cash transaction in public should not lead someone to call the police and for saying that if I don’t have transportation, I should be allowed to walk to work without someone calling law enforcement to report me. Yeah, I suppose that makes me a flaming liberal all right. It’s a crazy, upside down world when emotions enter politics.

    Jolly,

I wasn’t refering to you in that context – I do feel the MM could be more effective and get more sympathy by investigating legally any suspicious activity by obvious employers.

seeing a child outside constantly, under the age of 4, alone had a neighbor call – it led to a big time drug bust –

Also, having more than 2,000 dollars on your person has been up held as reasonable suspicion – try flying to europe with Arabic Currency like I did – great fun in customs

If you are walking to work law enforcement may take the call they won’t so squat about it

Dozens of people riding in a bus or pickup truck to a worksite will get investigated.

Whats up withthe Iman teaching bibical history?

    Missed that

Have fun there are alot of wierdos out there – I’m the worst 🙂

BTW the daily bulletin also says they have had the trial transcripts for a while. R&C

Also all of the BPA’s involved in the trial have violated their limited immunity (changed their story at trial and to the press afterwords) now they are being fired and probably will go to trial but only face the 1 to 5 years since they never fired their weapons.

Tancredo isgnored a question at a press conference if he took a camera and had proof of Ramos injuries

look on his face was priceless (like getting caught in a big fib)

Man, you took a beatin’!! You’re the debbil!! Not really. Were interesting topics. I held my tongue on the illegal alien one. Sometimes, I have conflicting opinions. It’s hard to see both sides and form a good opinion.

The same ones that would allow their flavor of religion be taught in school would scream if something they did not agree with were mentioned. It’s a slippery slope best not trodden! But schools are not a religiously sterile zone either. That’s what everyone just assumed and got all lathered up about. I guess they thought you were taking the Michael Newdow ACLU approach to this, but you weren’t.

You can rest easy knowing that that I for one don’t think you’re a “Godless Commie Heathen”! 🙂

BTW Cool Hand Luke is on my top 10 best EVER movie list! Another one is: ‘The Sand Pebbles’ with Steve Mcqueen.
