yesterday, riding the Marauder down the coast to work, just absolutely gorgeous. And today looks as promising.
The plantation still isn’t running so great, perhaps spring fever hit us a little late this year. And I just can’t seem to keep focused well enough to right the ship, gonna have to work on that.
Last night, SU and I watched a wonderful movie, Something the Lord Made. It is a made for TV movie by HBO and it is based on the true story of Dr. Alfred Blalock and Vivien Thomas of Johns Hopkins. These two guys, one an educated white, the other an uneducated black, made history by performing the first open heart surgery. The tale weaves through the minefield of racial stereotypes, East Coast discrimination, snooty academia, arrogant medical staff, family tensions and personal relationships. What a great job they did on this story. Highly recommended.
I cleaned and washed the Marauder when I got home yesterday, it was filthy from riding in the monsoon the other day. Also installed a tank cover that has a pocket for my glasses and cell phone, should come in very handy.
Today, I’m off on another Patriot Guard ride, this one for Pfc. Roy L. Jones III, for whom I rode in the escort Tuesday.
