sort of weekend. The surprise visit from 2 was great, she’s really maturing and blossoming and all that stuff parents think when they look at a successful offspring. I think I talked her ears off, just call me chatty Cathy. It was good to see her.
Sat night, SU and I had another Galactica fest. Watched 4 episodes from the middle of season 2.5. That is a very addicting type of entertainment. Reinforces my decision to not watch any TV. Watched 2 more episodes last night, only 2 more on the disc and then it is over for us until they release the current season.
Class was up and down. The guys seem to really enjoy the daily material, they surely are talking more than ever. I focused on Pilate’s attempt to wash away responsibility for his actions, something the I think we all tend to do from time to time. Or more often.
Skipped out on church, the choir was doing an Easter cantata and there wasn’t much room at the inn. I had noticed an article in the Chronicle before I went to church about the City of Houston deciding to force the Center Serving Persons with Mental Retardation to move because developers want the land. So SU and I went downtown to see the facility and view firsthand the power and callousness of the government.
It is certainly in a prime location, the corner of Shepard and Allen Parkway. But where is the sanity in this? Has the Mayor of Houston ever seen a source of revenue that he didn’t like? The older I get, the less respect I have for politicians.
Had quartet practice late afternoon, then led the music in church because RSa was in the pulpit. Overall, a very good weekend.
