It was really a

wonderful day at church today. We started off this morning with a great class. Sometimes, the music session makes me really happy and today was one of those days. Our prayer time was really good, although someday, it will return to the times when BIL came and played In His Time for us.

I thought that the men’s class was very good. The guys were in a talkative mood and had some pretty good insights. What is goodness, as it relates to the fruit of the Holy Spirit? That was our topic and it was pretty interesting. I knew it would be because SU and I didn’t quite see eye to eye on it. I told the guys about it and admitted that since she was the smart one, I’d eventually agree with her.

We had a special guest in the service today, Melissa Evers. She has an awesome vocal ability. It was a good service.

Went to lunch with Pop at the Chinese place, all of us were very quiet for some reason.

Had the opportunity to lead the music at church tonight, it was great. I really like doing that, even though it is a struggle for me to overcome the shyness. Did a special, me on the guitar (Taylor 420 Maple through the LR Baggs Para Acoustic), ol’ Charlie on the mandolin and Sis doing the alto harmony (should’ve been SSh). Fun stuff but I miss JM playing with me.

Oh well, rambling a lot, but it is midnight. I’m smokin’ a couple of briskets tonight. Was planning to have a Memorial Day party but I heard a radio show Saturday that just blew me away, made Memorial Day hit me between the eyes, as in, what is Memorial Day? And why have we turned it into nothing more than just another day off? I want to post about it, but everytime I start, I have tears again. But I will. Late.

I had a preview of that special!
I agree that we take Memorial Day off without pausing to think about the purpose of Memorial Day. Shame on us! Thanks for the gentle reminder of how grateful we should be for those who gave their lives so we could have a Memorial Day…so we could enjoy freedom.
