It’s been a long

David Jennings · April 11, 2006 · Leave a Comment

couple of days. Always like that when SU is ill and she was very ill, haven’t seen her like that in a while. Also, I’m so much like a woman now or we’ve been married so long (not sure which) that I get “sympathy sick”. Start having the same symptoms; why is that? Weird. SU just says that I want the attention and to stop it!

I didn’t mention it but I must say that I was extremely disappointed (shocked??) at the turnout for the annual church Easter cantata Sunday evening. I’d bet money that we had a higher turnout last year at our old church, temporary quarters and all. I’m not certain what is happening with attendance, I keep hearing (and seeing) that we have all these people joining but the attendance certainly doesn’t reflect that. It is very obvious every Sunday morning, now that I’m on stage each week. I look out and see tons of empty seats whereas two months ago, they weren’t there. Personally, I think that is one of the problems with grabbing members of other churches, I mean, if they didn’t go and work in their own church, why should we expect them to in ours? Beyond that, even in my class, there are few workers. I suppose that it is like anything else in life, workers work and talkers talk (and give advice on how, what and where the workers should work).

On the guitar front, exciting news. We’ve gotten two more guys that are buying guitars. Soon, we’ll be able to have a guitar fest! Seriously, it will be fun to have 10-15 men with guitars play a song on a Sunday night, lined up around the stage and walls. No amps will be needed because of the quantity! It’s also cool to be able to give good advice about what to purchase, where and why. I’ve become very knowledgeable and it’s fun to tell the guys what and why.

Got my first roll of slides back from using the Koni. It’s been awhile since I used it, so I wasn’t expecting miraculous shots and I was correct in that thinking! It’s hard to judge sunsets, especially after a long layoff and trying a new film. They were all about a stop and a half over exposed, meaning the colors weren’t as rich as I saw in my mind. Of the 10, I think one is a keeper, the rest are just pictures of a sunset. Never fear, I’ll try again! Late.
