I’ve been having

David Jennings · September 27, 2005 · 1 Comment

internet withdrawal! Finally got power back Sunday night, but no cable. Briefly used it Monday morning, then go to work and guess what, the internet doesn’t work there! Then, yesterday, after moving trees around and starting to put the yard back to normal, I was just too tired and went straight to bed after SU and I returned to our home kitchen, El Toro. Of course, the margarita probably contributed to that.

Got a surprise when I pulled in the driveway, Buddy was home! He went with MIL to Livingston to escape the storm and of course, the storm went straight for them. I think he was traumatized by the experience, he’s being very loving. Even SU noticed and gently stroked him for awhile. His friend, Little Dog, was here as well, not to worry, nothing can traumatize Little Dog.

So much to recall and document about this storm. One of the things I haven’t seen is the extent of the damage where the eye hit. Some of the pictures I have seen show a lot of destruction but I just haven’t seen too many.

Oh, remember the 6th floor at the place I was staying during the storm? They managed to get most of them out yesterday and did a damage assessment. Turns out the ungrateful $%#^$ wrote graffiti everywhere with permanent markers. You know, I wonder if Ms. Sheila Jackson Lee will try to get federal funding to clean that up? Late.

One thing for sure, Ms Sheila Jackson Lee can get her mug just about everywhere!! Amazing isn’t it! I think I will contact her office today and ask if there will be financial reimbursement to those “shelters” that must spend $$ to clean up!!
No need to mention the shelters…I am sure ALL of them have graffiti damage and trash clean up…PIGS!
