Oftentimes, it seems as if

David Jennings · February 28, 2007 · 3 Comments

nothing is going right but everything is. You just can’t see it, almost a forest/tree thing. It’s so easy to be overwhelmed by the pressure of living in today’s society, pressure from so many sides that if feels llike you just can’t stop it.

So goes my mindset lately. The reality is quite different from my perception though. Reality tells me that all is very good, perception is gnawing at me incessantly telling me that something is askew. Which is correct? The obvious answre is reality but the problem with that is that perception shapes reality. Except in this case. Very strange.

SU and I watched a good Sidney Poitier movie last night, To Sir, With Love. Filmed in 1967, it is about a reluctant teacher trying to corral beligerent teens, finding in the end his purpose in life. Too often, we don’t recognize our teachers and the influence they have on our society. Well, I suppose that isn’t quite accurate, they are recognized but invaribly it is because they are teaching our children socialism. Which is to a large extent true but there are also those teachers that are setting good examples for our children. Those are the ones we need to honor more.

Anyways, I’m rambling again. Late.
