day at church today. It was rushed, no doubt about that, but we did the best we could. I did notice that we had less interaction before/after because people were hurrying to get to their places. And several people, including me, didn’t make it into the sanctuary before the doors closed and the pastor started with the weekly announcements.
BIL made it today! Yep, he made it to class and church. What a blessing that was! I know it was hard on him but oh, so many people prayed for his recovery. And yes, everyone wanted to hug him and just be together. First time I’ve seen big ol’ Allen B. close to tears but there he was, all red faced and misty eyed, shaking BIL’s hand. Wow. Amazing, simply amazing.
Did I mention that SILm is living with us for a bit? Yeah, it’s been pretty nice actually. I’ve seen her more in the last 2 weeks than in the past 2 years. And I think she’s good for 1, having someone around to talk to besides the mean old parents. So, anyways, SILm was there this morning too! Almost a family reunion.
Turns out that SILm was tired last night but had scheduled a date. So, what does she do? Invites the guy over here! But that was okay because SU and I had a wild hair and pulled out of here about 9 pm to head over to Anderson Fair to catch the Sidehill Gougers. Last time we went to see them, the female singer had strep and couldn’t sing. But last night, she was awesome! What a silky smooth voice. Very nice. I didn’t think their set was all that tight but they have been traveling constantly since the first of the year and were very tired. Still, the voice, man, the voice. They are going to have a nice career. Late.
