truth be told. Started out normal enough, then the big bang, good church, then a hospital visit, finally went out with a whimper.
Everything was looking peachy at church, beautiful weather and such. A little nervous waiting to see if the guest speaker would show up but he did, right on time. Then, out of the blue, JM hits the floor, hard. SIL (who will now forever be known as Barbara Mandrel) takes charge of the case with her helper, SU, whilst I call 911. Not sure how I was the chosen one, but the dispatcher tells me, hold on, we are getting numerous calls from that location but I want to talk to you. In a bit, a police officer arrives, then an EMS supervisor, then another EMS, then the ambulance. After a short while (seemed like a long time), they whisk JM off to the hospital for diagnosis and repair. SU and I went up to see him later, he was much better aside from a broken bone in his hand, a couple of large knots on the knoggin’ and a bit of nausea. He should be released today if all stays the same.
We clapped for him as he was being wheeled out the door, he probably thought he was a big star or something. Then, with time short, I asked the guest speaker if he would reschedule (which he did) and we sang a few songs, prayed and closed.
Got to sing in a quartet in big church, it sounded really good. Lunch with Pop (made even tastier when Barbara Mandrel paid), then to a nap, then the hospital. Started feeling poorly, I’m telling you, it’s sympathy sickness, I’m becoming a woman. Started in on Dekker’s House, then went on to bed.
An Easter to remember!
