returning to something approaching normal, normal for me anyways. Had a good weekend, even without high speed internet!
We did find a car for SU, a 2007 Hyundai Sonata Limited, white with tan leather interior. Picking it up tonight, I had them tint the windows. Really nice car for the price and made in Alabama, USA to boot. Actually, there are no more “made in America” cars as we traditionally defined the term. Some of the old USA brands contain 64-67% of parts made in America but that is about it. The Hyundai has 35% made in America and assembled here, so I’m okay with that. And most reviews have their quality surpassing all but a couple of specialty makers. We’ll see.
The buying experience wasn’t too bad. We test drove the Ford Five-Hundred, what a lug. Pretty enough but no power to speak of. Ended up purchasing the Hyundai from a guy that attends Clear Point in Pasadena. I just hate the part of new car buying when the finance guy tries to sell you everything but the kitchen sink. This one was a young Aggie and he tried but recognized pretty quickly that I wasn’t going to add anything to the bottom line price we had agreed upon. Not too bad.
Church was okay yesterday. Ended up with a large class when all was said and done. Doesn’t anyone make it on time anywhere? One of my pet peeves is to be on time or early as much as possible wherever I’m going. I digress. We had a couple of visitors in the men’s group, one of ’em was a cliche throwing, bible totin’ spouter of Proverbs. Can I say that I hope he doesn’t come back? Is that legit? Probably not but how many times must one endure (hey, I don’t get paid for this) people that have vast knowledge of the Bible but ZERO wisdom? One of those guys that needs a tremendous amount of help but will refuse to admit it or accept it. It gets old sometimes. But by tomorrow, I’ll be hoping he makes his way back. Weird.
Sure is nice to be at work. Internet, you know. Late.
