with the governors race this year in Texas? Talk about a bunch of awful choices. Logic says that the incumbent will win again but something tells me that logic may not work in this race. When I hear staunch conservatives talk about the virtues of voting for Kinky Friedman, I have to scratch my head. But there they are, talking him up as if he is the next Jesse Ventura.
I heard him being interviewed by Dan Patrick on KSEV the other day. It’s funny to watch Dan’s progress as a politician. From a fire brandishing outsider to a guy who wants to get in with the ‘boys and do some glad-handing. But that is a story for another day, today I’m trying to figure Kinky out. Whilst it is true that the gov of Texas doesn’t have much power, I wonder about the wisdom in voting for a guy like this. Pro-abortion, pro-spending, anti-death penalty, pro-homosexual marriage. But on the other hand, he is for appraisal caps, for increasing security at the border, against the governors business tax increase.
It would be hard for me to vote for him but in reality, he really couldn’t do anything to push the abortion agenda further. That would have to come through the legislature. As would most of the other things he is for. So, perhaps it would send a clear message to politicians if we were to elect him without causing much harm. Far worse would be re-electing Perry or having a truly liberal Democrat governor like Bell. As for Grandma, nah.
Late.

Maybe if Kinky were elected the rest of the country would get the message that being governor of Texas should not be taken as qualification to be President.

LOL, I think the current shrub in the WH proves that point.

VOTE LIBERTARIAN

Unfortunately, Mr. Werner has zero chance of being elected. At least Kinky will hit double digits in vote percentage.
