of time with BIL last night down at Katie’s. Talk about a guy with a lot of troubles. What a year. Coma. Near death. Nerve damage. His SU breaks her shoulder, her ankle, gets a staph infection at the hospital. He breaks his finger carpooling. Then a couple of weeks ago, totals his truck while not wearing a seatbelt. Breaks another finger. Cracks open both knees, has to have staples applied. Bruised all to heck by the air bag. Company changes compensation method. Wow. Bummer.
All in all, he seems to be holding up okay, although you can tell it is wearing on him. Just not the same person and going to Katie’s has it’s plusses and minuses. As in, the twinke in his eye listening to live music. As in the somberness in his tone as he thinks about not being able to play music.
He knows that he should come to church but it’s just hard. I think he would have been there yesterday if he just plain felt better. Watching him walk reveals much about his situation. Very slow, methodical, painful.
Prayer is all that I or anyone can do. But thankfully, that’s quite a lot.
