with Pop over in Louisiana. Really good trip, we had a lot of fun. I do hope my pics come out, I was able to get all three brothers together. Oldest is now 82, Pop will be 80 next month and the youngest is 72. Pop reiterated that he will never die, that he will be taken up when Jesus returns. I enjoyed the time so much that I’m probably going to go to the annual reunion in September, they say that it is a good time.
We returned home on the back roads, avoiding I-10 just for the heck of it. Probably added 30-45 minutes to our drive but it was well worth it. Totally relaxing, just a drive in the woods. It was raining on and off, so we didn’t get out to take any photos, although I saw several interesting sights that I might return to. I think Pop’s favorite moment was when he got to talk to the cashier at the Exxon in Dequincy about Jesus and gave her a bible. Or it could have been the church sign that said “the gospel was sent to break hard hearts and to mend broken hearts”.
SU and I had the house to ourselves last night and celebrated in fine fashion, staying home, ordering a pizza and watching “Changing Lanes”. Very nice way to return home.
We got up late this morning, then took the Buddy Boy on the 2 mile modified, then went and had brunch, then worked in the yard and now it is down time. The pool has finally recovered from my mistake about 6 weeks ago (I flooded it with DE, which is nothing but dirt) so we’ll be able to jump in there next weekend. Ah, well, like I said, it’s nap time. Late.
