Started my vacation

David Jennings · June 23, 2006 · Leave a Comment

this afternoon, YEEEEE HAAAAA!

Backing up a day, I picked up my Epiphone AJ-28 from Lone Star yesterday. Jim and Mick did an awesome job on the new setup. They shaped and installed a bone nut and saddle from blanks I purchased from Ebay, as well as a Pure Western pickup. They also checked and leveled a few frets that weren’t quite right. Then, they set the whole thing up with Martin SP mediums. Normally, I have my guitars set up with lights, but I thought this one would benefit from a bit more tension. And I think I was right! Sounds great and plays great.

Went up to church tonight to setup for tomorrow’s men’s breakfast. Took my Crate acoustic amp, a couple of condenser mics, my Behringer mixer and a dynamic mic, hooked it all up and did sound checks. I think I eliminated all of the feedback by angling the amp away from the condenser mics. We’ll see tomorrow.

Oh well, it’s off to Anderson Fair! SU and I are going to listen to The Sidehill Gougers. Late.
