up a bit. Been a bit down on myself lately, about a number of things. And questioning a lot of things. But I woke up this morning to a couple of emails from a friend lifting me up.
That is what we are to do as believers, lift each other up, especially when we see them being attacked. He sent me a couple of words of encouragement, along with Matthew 7:1-6 and 1 Corinthians 4.
1 Corinthians 4:1-4 Don’t imagine us leaders to be something we aren’t. We are servants of Christ, not his masters. We are guides into God’s most sublime secrets, not security guards posted to protect them. The requirements for a good guide are reliability and accurate knowledge. It matters very little to me what you think of me, even less where I rank in popular opinion. I don’t even rank myself. Comparisons in these matters are pointless. I’m not aware of anything that would disqualify me from being a good guide for you, but that doesn’t mean much. The Master makes that judgment.
Stayed around the trailer last night, didn’t do much. The contractors are finished and now we have to put the house back in order. Bought a new shower door and lights for the bath, need to get those installed. It’s almost like camping out having to take showers upstairs.
Beautiful day riding up the coast. The wind is getting pretty crisp in the mornings, I’ll have to start wearing a jacket soon. The sky was clear as a bell as I crossed over the Kemah bridge, lit by nothing but moonlight. Pretty.
