Sure was a great weekend!

Got to watch a movie and eat pizza with SU on Friday night. A PG movie called Dreamer, about a father/daughter relationship. Pretty much the standard formula but you know why the formula works? Because people like me and SU are suckers for a clean, curse-free, violence-free, nudity-free movie! Highly recommended for other suckers.

Saturday was chore day, unusual for the bigjolly. I sorta let the pool go and it was gettin’ a bit mucky, so that was first on the list. As I cleaned it, it got murkier and murkier, which made me think how once our lives get messed up, it sometimes takes getting worse to get better. Anyways, I know there is an analogy in there somewhere, just gotta think about it.

After that I washed the Marauder, got it all bright and shiny again. Methinks it is harder than washing a car! Lots of little places to clean and lots of sharp edges.

Then it was on to working on the Regal. 1 had been driving it and reported that the a/c wasn’t cooling correctly. Had a heck of a time finding the low pressure coupling (note to all owners of 2000 Buick Regals, it is in the center of the firewall, behind the engine, tucked under the lip of the hood). I guess it was low! Took 3 lbs of refrigerant, which is the equivalent of exactly one whole bunch! Working like a charm now. Need to sell one of these vehicles quick.

I thought class went pretty well Sunday given the  material we were going over. Hebrews is a great letter in the Bible but abstract terms are tough on us idiots.

Mentioned the game earlier, so I won’t rehash that. After the game, SU and I stopped for lunch at the new Baytown Seafood location in Laporte – we walked out after waiting for 10 minutes for someone to say hi or ask us if we wanted something to drink. Or eat. Guess the 3 little girls were too involved in their cell phone calls to worry about a customer. And, although they just opened the place 3 weeks ago, it was really dirty. Yuk. After that we went over to Denny’s and were greeted warmly by a waitress who obviously is aware of the importance of tips to her monthly income. Good meal.

The church  had its’ annual fall festival from 5:30-7:30, huge success. Probably 500 or so milled around at one time or another, a ton of food was served. Great outreach tool.

Enough – gonna try to get out early and go see the gov – the wind is blowing so hard I want to get a picture of him with a hair or two out of place (okay, so that is unlikely, I know, I know). Late.
