Took a day off from

church yesterday, a well needed mental health day! SU and I just hung out around the trailer, piddling inside and out. I managed to get the pool cleaned, still a few weeks off from being warm enough to jump in but I’m ready. Nothing like working outside or coming home from the plantation after a hot day and jumping in the pool.

Also fired up the pit for the first time in a while. Grilled a rack of pork ribs and a couple of chicken breasts. Used the little Weber Smokey Mountain, one of the best smokers I’ve ever owned and perfectly sized for single family meals. I’ve smoked a 18 lb Turkey on it and a 12 lb brisket at the same time for parties but that is pushing the limit. Used a combination of oak and mesquite yesterday.

Late afternoon we had a Battlestar Galactica marathon session. Watched 3 episodes from season 2. I think we are hooked on that and watching TV shows on DVD’s is the only way to watch TV. No commercials!

Have a doctor’s visit today, yuck. At least his office is efficient and we know one of the ladies that works there. That is sort of a double edged sword because, HIPAA or not, word gets out that you were there, uh-oh, it’s happening again, etc. Word spreading also means lots of prayer things going on too! Take the good with the bad and keep on keeping on.
