Turned out to be

David Jennings · March 23, 2006 · 4 Comments

a really good day yesterday, despite a hitch or two. Hopped on the tractor and cleared brush for an hour or so in the morning, I love doing that, it’s truly a form of therapy. Then in the afternoon, I was sitting at my desk and heard a familiar voice in the shop. Turns out that MJ decided to stop in! Wow, how cool was that. Long time, no see. I have fond memories of our lunches while we worked at Evans together and lots of memories from our days at the other company. He’s still the same ol’ MJ, always looking for something new, always praising the Lord. I sure enjoyed that visit.

Got home and the dryer was kaput. Bummer. Not even five years old. So much for the old Maytag commercial, I guess that they are pretty busy now. Got me down for a bit because of all the extra-ordinary (I put the hypen in on purpose, JM) expenses in the last month, cars, trees, cars. Forgot for a half-second how blessed I am.

Was reminded real quick when I got up to church to strum guitars with JM. I brought the Ibanez AEL50 with me. Very relaxing. He brought his new mandolin, it’s pretty cool. Not sure that my fingers could fit on one of those little things! Sounds kinda neat, should keep the engineer at bay for a week. Anyways, the session took the bummers right out of me.

Church was allright, the pastor was in a decent mood. Said a few weird things as usual but mostly it was a good study. Stayed after to go over the music for Sunday morning.

Whilst JM and I were strumming and shootin’ the bull, he says he’s going to respond to my rant about television and how my “beloved” internet is far worse. At first, I thought he had a point, but after some thought, not a chance. I’ll address it in a future post. Late.

I didn’t say “far worse” (or if I did I misspoke) I only meant to imply that unmonitored access to the internet had more imediate risks than did television. I prefer carefully guided / monitored exposure in both cases.
Probably not on your point anyway. I think you just want to blame Hoss and Ben for making you a macho island of a man.

“Said a few weird things as usual” haha. Oh how I do so agree with that statement.

Now THAT is a great quote: “macho island of a man”.

Yep…I, too, like to think of Big Jolly as a “macho island of the man.” thanks, JM, for calling ’em as you see ’em!
