Very nice Fourth of July

David Jennings · July 4, 2005 · 1 Comment

holiday at our home today! Had a great time with the SU, JM (& JM), RS (& KS), and FR. Gonna have to rethink using these initials, looks funny. I grilled a little chicken, hot dogs and bratwurst. Tried grilling shrimp, not my specialty to be sure. I like meats that are slow to cook because I’m basically lazy. Ate, played horseshoes, ate, swam in the pool, ate, swapped stories, ate, picked at the guitars and ate again! Overall, a very good day. I enjoyed it a lot. We don’t often get together like this, what with busy schedules and such (that is a good way of saying we are not very social).

I needed a good day after my afternoon yesterday. 2 had a flat (large screw in the tires that I just bought a month ago!) that I had to get repaired, drove all over LaPorte, Deer Park and Pasadena before I found a little shop open. Then the air in my truck starts warming up, so I stopped by the auto parts store and picked up some freon. Ever put freon in a diesel truck while the ambient temperature is over 100 degrees F? Not a pretty sight, totally wore me out. Missed going with Pop to SS’s special event at her church, bummer.

I’m tired. I’ll be in bed long before the fireworks start. Late.

I am sorry that you missed it. We did have a nice turnout, despite the heat.
