Well, I made it to the governors

pep rally yesterday afternoon, it was quite a sight to see. The organizers did a good job of creating a festive atmosphere, lot’s of party energy, several party celebrities and candidates. All there to help the gov get re-elected because, you know, we don’t want some liberal dem gettin’ elected and screwin’ with Texas. Yeah, right.

I decided weeks ago to vote for whomever is # 2 in the polls on election day in the governor’s race because I think it best for our state if Gov. Perry loses. Not send him a message, I want him to lose, period. Because if he wins, the future looks real bleak for the Republicans, at least if you are on the conservative side of the party. For those whiners out there protesting that the gov can appoint liberal judges, I’d just have to say……yup, Perry has done just that, check the record. If you know how the Texas gov’t works, you know that the real power is in the Lt. Gov’s office and that is where the problem is and where the solution lies in this race.

Here’s the deal – Lt. Gov. Dewhurst is the heir apparent for the governorship and then, if his plan goes well, the White House. Make no mistake about it, that is what he wants. And he has the money to attempt that. If Gov. Perry wins, that means for the next 4 years, Lt. Gov. Dewhurst is going to continue his “moderate” Repub tendencies and swing the state gov’t further to the left. If Gov. Perry loses, Lt. Gov. Dewhurst is going to have to return to the conservative base, act like a conservative, pass conservative legislation, etc. If he doesn’t, he will not be gov, he will not be pres. I think it is very clear and wish others would open their eyes to this. But alas, there is a 99% probability that Gov. Perry wins, Lt. Gov. Dewhurst goes on to win, Texas continues it’s downward spiral. Just the bigjolly’s opinion.
