What a day.

David Jennings · August 27, 2005 · 1 Comment

What a day. Started out good, went major bad, ended up positive.

Still reeling from BIL’s decision, although it has been coming for a while. With his drive to work every day, about the last thing he wants to do on a Sunday morn is get up early to do the same. But he did it faithfully for 2 years. I don’t know if God removed his call to be in our class or if he made the decision on his own but I can certainly understand the drive part. That said, he’s in for a rough, rough ride if he’s doing this outside of God’s will.

Now on to the positive, SU and I went to Lifeway this afternoon to see if we could find a new study guide. Ended up with 2 each, I think. One of the ones I picked up is on prayer as a continuous thing, I’m hoping it will help me hear God again. The other one is a 12 week study on living in the spirit, something I long for daily.

Then, after Lifeway, we went back to Coffee Oasis. Yeah, the same place where the old guy was playin’ SRV on an acoustic and then Kristen Scanlon blew me away with the song, What You See from There. Well, we arrived around 7 and nothing was happening. After getting our coffee and settling in to read, I glanced out the window and I’ll be danged if I don’t see NM (that would be nephew matthew) pulling up and unloading his guitar! Wow, of all things. He hasn’t played this shop in a couple of years. So, me being the good U I am, I proceeded to be his roadie and unloaded his gear for him. SU called his mom and told her we were there, so they came up as well. We stayed for a couple of hours, just enjoying ourselves and the timing of it all. NM is leaving for college in California next week and will be gone for awhile.

Ah, the wonder of it all. Late.
