What a day, what a

day, what a day! Wow, was the weather awesome or what? Firing up the pit won the LST poll, so I did that earlier. Also cleaned the pool (did anyone ever tell you that a pool is a PIA?), walked the dog and cleaned the garage (okay, that was a stretch but at least I move some stuff around!).

SU got home from her slumber party (aren’t slumber parties for kids?) around 1:00 pm, then we hopped on the Marauder and headed down the coast. Went through the coolest neighborhood off of 146, then found a park called Bayshore. Walked the pathways and learned about watersheds by reading the signs. Nothing much better than listening to the waves crash against the rocks. Way, way cool.

So what do you do after a day of chores and biking? Nap time. Heh. And a nice one it was.

I’m sitting here, trying to work on my lesson plan for tomorrow, and suddenly, I get a jonesin’ to head back to Anderson Fair to see Shake Russell. I ask SU if she has a problem with that and she says no, but you gotta go by yourself, I’m tired. So off I went, alone. With stealth recorder! Click on the name for podcast (mp3) or click on the play button to stream. Great show, just stayed for one set, back to working on the lesson plan. There are very few treats as good as Shake singing Deep in the West (btw, that voice you hear requesting it couldn’t be your’s truly……). Buy the song somewhere. Better yet, buy one of his CD’s. Shake is a true Texas treasure.
