What a day,

David Jennings · June 25, 2005 · 3 Comments

what a day. Whew! Drove up to Highland Lakes today to visit with # 1 for her b’day. And back. Was a great day though. 1 is such a happy, positive person. She even intro’d us to her friends at camp. Wow, we made the big time!

Traffic was a bear this morning as the ship channel bridge was bottlenecked into 2 lanes and the exit to I-10 was closed. Which meant that after a 45 minute wait getting over the bridge, I had to drive past I-10, exit and do a U (how do you spell eewwyy?) turn to go back to I-10. Then, once in Austin, more of the same. Their traffic just plain sucks.

We drove to Marble Falls for lunch. Ate at a great barbeque place, Peete’s Mesquite. Very nice brisket and good tangy sauce. Perfect weather, great views of the rivers and lakes in the hills. Just a good day.

Tomorrow I get to repeat the process, this time going East for a concert with #2. Late.

Glad to hear that you had a great day, traffic and all. And you did a fine job of spelling “eewwyy.”
    Have a BLESSED day today.

And once again you were just a few miles from me and didn’t come see us! Or let us know you were that close and we could have met you in Marble Falls..really enjoy eating at the Bluebonnet Cafe there..

Hey, now, this time that comment isn’t fair!!!! I drove roughly 10 hrs to see # 1, would you have wanted to deal with me during hour # 7?

But, my bad, I should’ve been there.
