break from the routine. Three full days with about 15 minutes worth of computer time. No blogging, no checking the news, no email, nothing. Way cool.
Had a pretty good time at the plantation rahrah. Identified a couple of opportunities that I might want to explore next. And it was good to see the progress on various fronts of our market. Still intimidating to be in a roomful of PhD’s though.
It was great to be home last night. Met SU at the remote to recap the week. Missed that girl, I did. After that, we watched The Queen with 1. Turned out to be a pretty good flick. They sure did a hatchet job on Charles, I wonder if he is that much of a pompous twit. And made Tony Blair look really good.
When I checked my email, I had a note from Grits, he’s going to be in town next week. Looking forward to meeting him, we’ve had some nice email chats and some rather contentious online discussions. He does a fantastic job of covering the Texas judicial system and has been a source for several big newspapers, the NY Times and Chicago Tribune.
Thinking a lot lately about life and what I want to do. Time for some type of change, that’s pretty obvious. I think that SU and I are going to volunteer at one of the Baptist missions or perhaps one of the local food kitchens. Something to remind us that we a blessed and need to do more to help others.
2 Corinthians 6:11 We have spoken freely to you, Corinthians; our heart has been opened wide to you. 6:12 Our affection for you is not restricted, but you are restricted in your affections for us. 6:13 Now as a fair exchange – I speak as to my children – open wide your hearts to us also.
