search of the election archives, but I think that Gov. Perry’s 180 on illegal’s just might be the quickest aboutface in the history of political lies. Okay, so we knew he was lying when he ran all of those ads but did anyone expect him to admit it so quickly? Or completely? Wow. No wonder people think politicians are bums. Guess what this quote from the Dallas Morning News article means:
“We welcome Governor Perry’s new, more constructive tone on immigration issues,” said Deece Eckstein, director of the Texas and Southwest region of People For the American Way, a liberal group. “He understood one of the central messages of the recent elections – that immigrant bashing is not only mean-spirited and counterproductive, it is also politically unpopular, especially in Texas.”
What it means, boys and girls, is that he is turning his attention to the national arena, hoping to get that nod for the veep spot in 2008. Unbelievable. Both that he is doing it and that he really thinks he has a shot someday to be president. Dream on two face. At least it has given the blogsphere a jolt of energy this morning.
As mentioned, I didn’t make it to church last night. JM came over and we plugged in all of my electrics and listened to the differences between them. Didn’t really matter as he took a flyer on an Epi Les Paul on Ebay thinking there was no way he would win at this max bid and, lo and behold, he won it at a lower price than his max bid! Great deal on it, even if he doesn’t like it he can use his good feedback rating to turn it for a nice profit. Sweet.
Methinks Pop is irritated with me for not going to visitation or church. Had a message from the church sec when I got home last night informing me that they had decided to have a meeting. Normally, Pop would’ve called me on the cell or at work. So, yeah, he’s irritated. Hey, I’m in a funk, okay? It’s not like I’ve lost interest in things spiritual, quite the contrary. Just need a bit of a break, especially after finding out that they hired a florist to put up the tree that blocks the foyer. Don’t they realize that people work hard for their tithes and offerings? Isn’t there some other use for the money? Ah, but I must stop lest anyone get the idea that I’m unhappy. No, just need a little break.

I tried posting earlier, but booted me off. The jiggy was this:
Perry knew people were pissed off about his commercials on being tough on the border before the election. He got elected from those commercials. Now he flip-flopped…hmmmm…who does that remind me of? I didn’t fall for it. My concience is clear.
As for Pops…I’m sure he understands. I’m sure he’ll forgive you. Everyone needs a break in order to be more productive. Quit being so hard on yourself!
